I’m expanding my blog!

So recently I have looked at other social media platforms out there, some I have been on and some I haven’t, as it would be great to share my posts in other ways.

I have been blogging pretty much anonymously until recently, I did not tell my close family until last year and have only told a handful of friends in recent months. I didn’t want the attention whilst I blogged as some posts had opinions and feelings I wasn’t really comfortable with sharing. But I am now coming out of my blogger shell more and wanting to share my posts with others, especially now my blog has been documenting the amazing trips and experiences I have been having.

For that reason I have linked to both my Instagram and Twitter. Instagram I have had for a number of years and Twitter since… 1pm today. I currently have 0 followers there and would like to increase that by a couple.

My Instagram is @samest89 if anyone would like to follow

My Twitter is @octstw, an acronym for my new blog title.

Thank you if you have already stepped into my Insta world and gave a like or a follow, these are both HUUUUUUGE platforms to be on so it is only sensible I make an appearance on both and try to make my way on these sites. The majority of posts and pictures you will see will stem from my blog, and I hope you stop by to say hello at some point.

In the upcoming months these will gain momentum, now is a great time to follow as these will start to bloom soon.

Watch this space! (well, over at Instagram and Twitter)…

  1. I think it’s a good idea to expand a bit, blogger or writer. Not everyone feels it’s necessary, but the few who take the leap often make it far.

    Good luck Sam👍

  2. I blog more or less anonymously, too. I never mention real names on my blog and even edit other people’s comments if they name anyone. I also only tell a handful of real life friends about my blog, mainly because I am embarrassed about the content. “I write a blog about my cat. Look out for next week’s entry about flea treatment! Woo-hoo!” Cat people would get it. Most normal people would just roll their eyes.

      1. Hehehe! I don’t mind the idea of friends knowing what the content is, but it’s more the awkward conversation when they ask and I have to tell them. “Last week’s entry was all about how I tilted his cat bed around by 45 degrees.” And they look at me all wide-eyed, like, “Oh wow! That’s so … lame.”

  3. I dont have Instagram or Twitter…. maybe I have to rethink about that… In Norway Instagram is popular and snapshat has become very very popular and «big» here. Bloggers are using snapshat often and much…
You and me, we are a bit like when it comes to mind, I can recognize myself in what you are writing, a little bit strange..you downunder and me- not too far away from the North Pole😊
    Have a nice day🌸

    1. No matter how far, we can still think very alike! I love that about blogging, we can connect across the other side of the world. And when I am back in the UK I will be a lot closer! 🙂

      1. It’s not always fun and games! But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t having fun. Thank you for your support, you can join me in the journey through my posts 🙂

    1. Thanks so much for following! Much appreciated and I am truly grateful. My Instagram has been around for years, and although not as active as WordPress I do use it fairly regularly. Instagram on the other hand is one day old!

  4. Great news! I’ve just followed you on instagram! I did create a twitter account but I haven’t managed to get into using it yet…hopefully one day 🙂 I’m still blogging anonymously and only a couple of my friends know that I’m doing it. I prefer it that way at the moment, it makes it easier somehow!

    1. Thank you for following me!! It’s so fascinating to know how many people blog anonymously like us, I do agree it makes it easier. Less pressure and attention from those we know!

    1. Thank you so much! Thankfully I am travelling to some beautiful places so the pictures pretty much take themselves! But getting Instagram did inspire me to get out and snap some shots, maybe it will for you too 🙂

  5. Following you on Instagram now. I finally just set up a business Facebook account yesterday to try and help build brand awareness (blog, vintage shop, etc). Ugh, it hurt to do it. I’m not a fan of FB but it’s such a necessary evil.

    1. Thank you Marsi! I am not as present on FB as I was previously, however with it being such a huge platform it can’t do much harm. All the best with your blog and brand!!
