Accidental anniversaries

I have been checking my stats today and they have boomed compared to recent days, I have just hit 500 views for the day which is great and it’s looking like the majority of views coming from the States.

I think this may be the second highest view count I have had in a day, however I went down to check the statistic and it wasn’t there. Is this a glitch or has the actual number been removed from the insights page?

Anyways, I looked at the date above and it was Feb 2nd, 2018… A year ago yesterday. It made me think that is there the possibility that at a certain time of the year, something triggers me to work harder and for longer on my blog and therefore I get similar statistics?! I wonder if any of you guys have experienced something similar. Maybe a new wave of motivation after Christmas when I have very little money to do other things, as the buzz of Christmas wears down and I need a new boost.

Interesting to say the least.

I have 15 minutes before midnight here, so the views of this post will probably spill into tomorrow, I think my view count record is 572 or something. Way off, maybe next February.

  1. Awesome on the views. Well for me I do plan on spending more time overall blogging. But I think my views could be higher in the winter months because of spending more time indoors and not outside in the garden and other summer activities.🤷‍♀️

  2. I haven’t been able to spot any such patterns with my blog. My numbers are nowhere near as impressive as yours (maybe because you write about genuinely exciting things and I write about, erm, my cat) but I always imagine weekend posts will have a greater readership and this isn’t always the case. I have noticed that shorter posts are more popular, though. Are my readers trying to tell me that they’d like me to write less? 🤣

    1. I wouldn’t say I always write about genuinely exciting things but I do try haha. Thanks for the kind words. They say smaller niches have a better chance of a bigger audience because the blog or book relates more deeply to those that find it, so your cat stories will for sure get those numbers growing.

I too have had trouble trying to find such consistency, I don’t know when the best day or time to blog is still after 4 years of doing this, but the main thing is frequently. I like smaller posts for that reason, so maybe smaller and more frequent posts!

    1. True, and hope this is the case 🙂 I do see my stats continuously rise when I blog consistently, which shows people enjoy knowing consistency as much as content. And it is truly appreciated so thank you!

    1. Still a good number! Like I mentioned to a blogger above, it isn’t so much about the number, but ensuring that there is continual growth. Keep it up!

    1. They are indeed! I do like the change everyday, it does make me wonder why and how that is the case. All the potential reasons, from blogging during rush hour for readers to not blogging for a couple days… so many factors to take into consideration!
