RIP iPhone….

So my iPhone has eventually died… Some of you may recall me mentioning that it sustained water damage and didn’t have too long left. However it has lasted a good few months, much more than I expected.

The funny thing is, I finally managed to take my phone to the farm and snap a shot of the view I have whilst picking, a good few hours before it shut down for the final time. It was a great view too. Emotional times.

I am having fun, and since I last spoke to you all, I have completed NINE DAYS of the 88 days I need to stay in the country for another year. 79 days to go!

The countdown is on, sorry I haven’t been able to speak further however without a phone to take to the farm and now a broken phone, it has been very difficult.

I also had a spider on my shoulder for the whole journey home today. I am not sure if it was poisonous but you can’t really gamble with that here!

I am sore, I have cuts all over my body and it was around 35 degrees today. But although the farmers seemed to be psychopaths when I first met them, I understand their humour and they are great to work with. They just have high standards.

I will give a better insight to the work itself in my next post, for now I just wanted to say hello and come out of the metaphorical cave I have been hiding in.

  1. Surprised your phone lasted this long. Will you get another, or wait until you’re done your 79 days?

Best not to take chances with spiders, but it must have been unnerving to have it hitch a ride on your shoulder.

Careful your cuts & scratches don’t get infected.

    • Yeah I really need to be careful as I had a Staph infection once, it wasn’t pretty!

I will be getting one shortly, mainly to blog and it is nice to have a phone when I am on the farms in case I need to use it, although we are very safe and secure.

  2. Rest in frayed pieces of circuitry… It sounds almost like your phone was just content to have seen a decent view one last time.
Must’ve been a fun few hours in the spider’s company! I myself just spent four quality days with spiders. It ended with one biting my finger while I slept. Wonder what I said wrong?

      • My parents decided it was a good idea for city kids to spend time in a simulated forest environment… unfortunately, that included the spider!
Although, it took me thirty minutes on a bus with a friend to really appreciate a spider’s cuteness. She was really fascinated with a stray spider that wandered onto our seat, she was truly honoured when it began spinning a web between her fingers! So I guess they’re cool.

  3. I finished my farm work in December, even though at the time I half hated it, it was one of the best experiences of my life! Keep going, your time will fly by! 🙂 Enjoy it as much as you can, weridly you’ll miss it afterwards… haha! X

    • I have heard many people say this, although I thought they were crazy I can now relate! I am really enjoying it here. I bet it is a great feeling to complete the days though 🙂

    • I cannot wait to see more of the country! It is such a great place. I am pleased the spiders keep at bay here, they really don’t want any trouble, which is fine by me 🙂
