I had a quick trip south of Sydney today to a place called Wollongong, although we didn’t venture into the city. Instead we stopped of at a great pub for lunch and had a drive over the Sea Cliff Bridge, which can be seen if you look reaaaally closely in the below image.
It was a great drive, however it was sad to see so much of the bush around us black from fires. It really shows what challenge firefighters have to contain a wildfire, as well as how easy it is to set one.
There were some pretty nice cars along the journey, with some pretty happy dogs inside them.
What are you doing this weekend? Let me know, and have a great one!
Sam

This weekend I am at home in dreary London, feeling nostalgic about earlier days travelling in sunny places!

I have heard from a few businessmen in the hotel I work at that they are heading back to some pretty cold weather in London… Must be interesting to travel between two seasons in such a short space of time! I hope the weather picks up a little for you 🙂

Whoa, there’s a blast from the past! I used to live there, many years ago. My Mum was pregnant with my Sister whilst we were living there, and Sis was delivered in Sydney. The year was 1968, so l am figuring it has changed enormously since then 🙂

Cool! I bet it has, although being so new to the area I would have little idea of those changes! It would be nice for you to see the changes for yourself, I bet it is fascinating.
It’s great to know that you lived here!

Looks and sounds lovely. Are the bush fires always set by someone? I though they sometimes happened spontaneously. My weekend is the same as every other day: feed twin babies, repeat, repeat, repeat…

I asked my friend, she said they often are but it could be something like a dropped cigarette, so they aren’t always intentional… sometimes just carelessness. They could well start naturally I guess, although I will have to look into it 🙂

And Twins! You’re working double time haha. I’m sure your hands are full but I hope you have a great weekend!

Those views are spectacular! This weekend I will be visiting the South Texas Botanical Gardens. I’ve never been, but have heard good things. I look forward to finding out!

As a man who currently lives in the winter, I’m envy with the sun and chill vibes.

Where are you? When I’m back home I enjoy the thought of summer… But admittedly when I’m in high humidity I do think what it would be like to be walking in the snow like my friends back home haha. Although today, I’m grateful for the lovely weather we have here in Sydney.
