Is this a British thing, or does everyone do it? The ‘look at me drinking at 8am because I can!’ shot that we get as excited about as the holiday itself.

I like airports in the same way I have talked about hospitality work. Its only breakfast time for some people, the position of the sun is irrelevant if passengers have chased the sun all day long. There isn’t this 9-5 vibe going on, everyone is doing what they want when they want. I’ve just seen two people walk by in fancy dress with a pint. I’m sitting next to business people trying to wake up, or stay awake, with a strong coffee. I think this is a great way to break the mould we find ourselves in, it is easy to get into a set routine by living in a certain society, and what better way to do that by asking the waitress for a beer with your breakfast. Thankfully, she was more than happy to do so.

Bon appetite!

  1. I NEVER believed what the clock says for when I could have a beer or glass of wine. I also had a cold beer or wine if I felt like having one alone too. I don’t drive, so that was never an issue.
