I can relate to this short post. I don’t like the idea of having to retire before I get to travel, that I have to submit to a lifetime of employment with the promise of an escape afterwards. My parents decided to travel Europe before they had kids, a wise decision as my dad never made it to the retirement age. I can’t imagine working my whole life and not making it to the reward, that freaks me out a great deal.

This is a very short reminder that life is very short. I will make sure I travel as much as I can for the people that haven’t been able to, maybe one day I will be able to climb Machu Picchu for my dad and inspire others to find an escape sooner rather than later.

As they say, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now.

I love to travel. A few years back, I was talking with a co-worker about traveling. She is at the end of her career and I was just beginning. She talked about how a lot of her friends, who planned to travel when retired, were not able to once retired. She listed a bunch of reasons such as broken hips, bad knees, heart problems, etc. She encouraged me to travel while I can now. She told me to just go!
