The ‘Syrian Malala’ moves to Newcastle, UK… and is even getting used to the cold!

I’m delighted to be writing this, the teenage international human rights campaigner now considers my city of Newcastle as her adopted home. Muzoon Almellehan was welcomed by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, currently living in Birmingham, to the North East and believed that the city will give a warm Geordie welcome.

Malala said:

Even though this is my first visit to Newcastle, I’ve heard it’s a lovely place and I’m sure Muzoon will feel at home here.

The buildings here are beautiful and I’m sure Muzoon will settle in well.

Muzoon is confident she will receive an excellent education in the city and one day wants to become a journalist.

I hope I get to meet you one day soon Muzoon!
